Yuen Long restaurant ordered to suspend business
************************************************

The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a restaurant in Yuen Long to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

The restaurant, at Shop No.1, G/F, Wan Hing Building, junction of Yau San Street and Hop Yick Road, YLTL253, Yuen Long, was ordered to suspend business from today (October 31) to November 13, a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

"In July this year, there were two convictions in respect of illegal extension of food business at the food premises.

"A total fine of $9,000 was levied and 30 points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension," the spokesman said.

He added that there were also two convictions for the same offence regarding the restaurant in November last year and March this year.

"A total fine of $4,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were also registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from July 30 to August 5 this year," the spokesman said.

He reminded licensees of food premises to comply strictly with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
