Young musicians to highlight Mozart's concerto movements

Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra will join six young musicians next month (November) to perform ˇ§Highlights of Mozartˇ¦s concerto Movementsˇ¨ concert.

The programme includes Mozartˇ¦s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A, K219 (3rd Movement), Violin Concerto No.4 in D, K218 (1st Movement), Bassoon Concerto in B-flat, K191 (1st Movement), Clarinet Concerto in A, K622 (1st Movement), Horn Concerto in E-flat, K495 (3rd Movement) and Piano Concerto No.12 in A, K414  (1st Movement).

Under the leadership of conductor and music director Dr Yip Wai-hong, the orchestra will perform with remarkable youngsters - violin soloists Agnes Tse and Clement Luu, cellist Teddy Chow, clarinet soloist Vivien Law, horn soloist Raymond Cheng and pianist Wong Wai Yuen.

Founded by Dr Yip, ˇ§Father of Children's Choirˇ¨ of Hong Kong, Pan Asia Symphony Orchestra aims at promoting music among the general public especially the young generation in Hong Kong. The orchestra has performed few hundred times over the past 30 years and has successfully introduced serious music and Chinese orchestral music to the public, and at the same time, brought an awareness of the indigenous culture of the people.

Presented by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, the concert will be staged at 8pm, on November 10 (Friday) at the Theatre, Sheung Wan Civic Centre; November 11 (Saturday) at the Theatre, Ngau Chi Wan Civic Centre; and November 12 (Sunday) at the Theatre, Sai Wan Ho Civic Centre. Tickets priced at $90 and $60 are now available at all URBTIX outlets. Half-price concessions will be granted to senior citizens, people with disabilities, full-time students and Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients. (Limited tickets for Comprehensive Social Security Assistance recipients are available on a first-come, first-served basis.)
