MPFA recovers MPF non-payment for four employees
************************************************

The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (September 25) pursued three claims in the Small Claims Tribunal for some $30,000 on behalf of four employees, who were owed MPF contributions by their employers.

At today's hearing, the defendant, Ho Kit Yin and Yuen Kwok Ming formerly trading as Union Ad Engineering Co, did not dispute the amounts claimed.  The Adjudicator ordered it to pay the MPFA the sum of  $14,752.5, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The other two defendants - Harmony Pacific Company Limited and Happy Team Industries Limited trading as Doraku Jaya - did not appear at today's hearing.  In their absence, the Adjudicator ordered them to pay the MPFA the sums of $18,042.22 and $1,653.76, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable.

The amounts awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA.  The court further awarded payments of $110, $290 and $280 as the costs in respect of the claims.
