The Government announced today (September 22) the appointment of 19 non-official members to the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee.
The appointments will take effect from October 1, 2006 for a term of two years.
The committee, chaired by the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr Joseph W P Wong, advises the Government on the formulation and implementation of the Digital 21 Strategy, the blueprint for information and communications technology (ICT) development in Hong Kong.
"The new committee comprises a good mix of talent from the industry, business community, academia and the social welfare sector.
"I am confident that the committee will continue to provide the Government with valuable advice and insights on how to advance ICT development and sustain Hong Kong's position as a leading digital city," Mr Wong said.
The membership of the Digital 21 Strategy Advisory Committee (for the term from October 1, 2006 to September 30, 2008) is as follows:
