SME seminar about software asset management to be held on Sept 20

    The Support and Consultation Centre for SMEs (SUCCESS) of the Trade and Industry Department (TID) will hold a Software Asset Management Training Seminar next Wednesday (September 20) from 2.30-4.30pm at the Lecture Theatre, G/F, Hong Kong Central Library, 66 Causeway Road, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (MTR Tin Hau Station Exit B).

     Targeting owners and information technology managers of SMEs, the seminar aims to enhance SMEs' knowledge about software intellectual property and how to safeguard their companies from any legal risks associated with under-licensing or software infringement. By taking a proactive role in software asset management, SMEs can assure that they are getting the most out of their software investments.

     Each attendee will receive a training certificate jointly issued by the Intellectual Property Department, Business Software Alliance (BSA) and the Customs and Excise Department.

     Speakers include Solicitor of Intellectual Property Department, Ms Lau Wai-kar, Loretta; Divisional Commander (Copyright Investigation) of the Customs and Excise Department, Mr Koon Hon-chuen; and Manager of the BSA Hong Kong, Ms Ada Kong.

     The seminar will be conducted in Cantonese with free admission. Interested parties are requested to register with SUCCESS in advance as seats will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
