Transcript of SETW's remarks to the media
*****************************************

Following is a transcript (English portion) of the remarks made by the Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao, after attending a seminar on Municipal Solid Control Strategy and Technologies today (September 1):

Reporter: Regarding CLP Holding's proposed liquefied natural gas processing plant on Soko Island, obviously, we'll see the effects on the environment. How about the more expensive electricity charge after it was built?

Dr Liao: Certainly, we have to work out with the Economic Development and Labour Bureau on what impact it would have. Traditionally in the past, natural gas has been used for its relatively lower price and the price of oil products is something not predictable. There is the economic side we need to study.
