Invest Hong Kong wishes to alert people in Hong Kong and investors overseas to a false website with the domain name "www.lnvesthk.com". The website looks similar to the official website of Invest Hong Kong - www.investhk.gov.hk. Invest Hong Kong has no connection with the false website.
A spokesperson at Invest Hong Kong advised people in Hong Kong and overseas investors not to provide personal or corporate financial information through emails or the website. "Invest Hong Kong is the department established by the Government to attract and to facilitate businesses to set up or expand in Hong Kong. As a Government agency, we do not charge our clients for the assistance provided. We never request individuals or corporations to provide their financial information through our website in order carry out any investment activity on their behalf."
Invest Hong Kong has reported the case to the Hong Kong Police Force for further investigation. Anyone who has provided his or her personal information to the website or has conducted any financial transactions through the website should contact Invest Hong Kong at 3107 1000 and any local Police Station or the Commercial Crime Bureau of the Hong Kong Police Force at 2860 5012.
