Ping Shek PTI ready on Sunday (with photo)

    The Transport Department announced today (August 10) that the Ping Shek Public Transport Interchange at the first podium, located next to Choi Hung MTR station will be opened at 10am on Sunday (August 13) for public use.

     The interchange is connected to Clear Water Bay Road by up and down ramps to serve vehicles not exceeding 7m in length, 3.5m in height and 5.5 tonnes in weight.

     The following public transport services and facilities will be provided at the Interchange:

1. Minibus

     Kowloon GMB 16B will be changed to depart from the GMB stand at first floor podium of the PTI and diverted via New Clear Water Bay Road and Fung Shing Street with pick up/set down points added at New Clear Water Bay Road eastbound near Pak Hung House and the bus bay at Fung Shing Street northbound.  

     Kowloon GMB 54M's terminating point will be relocated from Ngau Chi Wan Public Transport Terminus to the first floor podium of the PTI.  It will re-route via Clear Water Bay Road, first floor podium of the PTI, Clear Water Bay Road and New Clear Water Bay Road.  Kowloon GMB 54M will not stop at Ngau Chi Wan Public Transport Terminus. Passengers should make use of first floor podium of the PTI for boarding and alighting.

     Other than the two mentioned GMB routes, the existing operation of minibuses at Clear Water Bay Road outside Tsuen Shek House of Ping Shek Estate will remain unchanged for the time being.

2. Taxi

     Taxi passengers heading for Shun Lee and Sai Kung are advised to take urban taxis at the first floor podium PTI taxi stand. However, taxi passengers heading for urban Kowloon, Hong Kong Island and other districts are advised to take taxis at the Ground Floor PTI taxi stand outside Kam Shek House for a more direct route.

3. MTR

     MTR Passengers may use Choi Hung MTR Station Exit A3 to go to Ping Shek PTI for interchange with other public transport services via escalator or lift.

4. Other traffic arrangements

     Vehicles from urban Kowloon can use the one-way up-ramp at the Sai Kung bound carriageway of Clear Water Bay Road to access the first floor podium PTI and Park & Ride car park; while vehicles to and from Sai Kung can use the two-way up-ramp.

     All vehicles leaving the first floor podium have to use the down ramp connecting to the Sai Kung bound carriageway of Clear Water Bay Road. For those travelling to urban Kowloon, they should continue straight ahead to New Clear Water Bay Road, turn left at the junction of Fung Shing Street and rejoin the downhill section of Clear Water Bay Road.
