The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, will leave Hong Kong tonight (August 7) for a duty visit to Australia and Singapore.
Mr Lee will first fly to Canberra where he will meet senior officials from the local law enforcement agencies, including the Australian Attorney-General, the Hon Philip Ruddock. He will visit the Australian Federal Police Headquarters before flying to Sydney where he will meet the Minister for Police, New South Wales, the Hon Carl Scully, and visit the local customs facilities.
The last leg of the visit is Singapore, where Mr Lee will meet his counterparts responsible for law and order, including the Singaporean Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, Mr Wong Kan Seng, and the Attorney-General, Mr Chao Hick Tin.
Mr Lee will also inspect the border security facilities at an immigration checkpoint between Singapore and West Malaysia.
Mr Lee will return to Hong Kong on August 16.
