The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will lead a delegation to attend the Ninth Plenary of the Hong Kong/Guangdong Co-operation Joint Conference in Guangzhou to be held on August 2.
The meeting will review the progress since the Eighth Plenary of the Joint Conference held last year, and discuss future co-operation.
Mr Tsang and the Governor of Guangdong Province, Mr Huang Huahua, will jointly preside over the meeting. They will meet the media afterwards.
The Chief Executive will also visit environmental facilities in Guangdong.
The delegation of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government includes the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Rafael Hui, other Principal Officials and Permanent Secretaries concerned, and the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr John Tsang.
The Chief Executive will leave for Guangzhou on August 1 and return to Hong Kong the next evening.
