Following earlier notification that some patients in a Medical ward of the hospital have presented with vomiting and diarrhoea symptoms, the spokesperson of Tai Po Hospital (TPH) gave the following update today (June 27).
There is one staff member in the Medical ward who has presented with similar symptoms today. The staff member is now on sick leave and is in stable condition. Test result is pending.
Admission to the ward concerned has been suspended. And the ward has implemented measures to restrict visiting and discharge activities. Infection control measures have also stepped up and all patients are under close surveillance.
The TPH Infection Control Team has reported the case to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection.
