Five-day working week for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority

    The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) announced today (June 27) that it would implement a five-day working week for its staff with effect from September 4.

     Following the implementation of a five-day working week, the HKMA Reception and the Information Centre will continue to be open on Saturday mornings.  Opening hours, which remain unchanged, are as follows:

Reception - Monday to Friday: 8.30am to 6pm
            Saturday: 9am to noon
            (except public holidays)

Information Centre - Monday to Friday: 10am to 6pm
                     Saturday: 10am to 1pm
                     (except public holidays)

     A spokesperson for the HKMA said that the total working hours of HKMA staff would remain unchanged after the introduction of a five-day working week, and no additional staff resources would be needed to implement the new arrangements.
