Castle Peak Hospital diarrhoea and vomiting cases

    The spokesperson of Castle Peak Hospital (CPH) made the following announcement today (June 22):

     There are five male patients (aged 21 to 57) and a staff member in a ward of intellectual disability presenting with vomiting and diarrhea symptoms since 20 June.  All of them are in stable condition and the five patients have been transferred to Tuen Mun Hospital for treatment under isolation.  Appropriate test has been carried out and is pending for the result.

     Admission to the ward has been suspended.  All other patients in the ward concerned are under close medical surveillance.  Infection control measures have been enhanced.

     The cases have been reported to the Hospital Authority and the Centre for Health Protection for necessary follow up.
