A Symphony of Lights enhanced with pyrotechnic displays on the sea
***********************************************************

The Tourism Commission announced today (June 20) that "A Symphony of Lights", which had been awarded The World's Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show by Guinness World Records, would be enhanced with pyrotechnic displays on June 24 (Saturday), June 25 (Sunday), July 1 (Saturday) and July 2 (Sunday).

The four newly-designed pyrotechnic shows are sponsored by the Hong Kong Tourism Board to complement the "2006 Hong Kong Shopping Festival" staged between June 24 and August 31.  They will be staged in Victoria Harbour off the Golden Bauhinia Square and are produced for the first time by an overseas company.

The best vantage points for viewing "A Symphony of Lights" include the promenade at Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai, as well as the Avenue of Stars and the waterfront of the Hong Kong Cultural Centre in Tsim Sha Tsui.  There will be on-site broadcast of the soundtrack of the show.

Spectators may also listen to the synchronised soundtrack via radio by tuning in to FM 103.4 MHz (English), FM 106.8 MHz (Cantonese) or FM 107.9 MHz (Putonghua); or via their mobile phones by dialing 3566 5665 (English) or 3566 5668 (Putonghua).

For enquiries on "A Symphony of Lights", please call the Tourism Commission at 2810 2555 or 2810 2770 during office hours or the Hong Kong Tourism Board's Visitor Hotline at 2508 1234 from 8 am to 6 pm daily.
