Following is a transcript (English portion) of the stand-up briefing by the Secretary for the Environment, Transport and Works, Dr Sarah Liao, today (May 30) after attending an experience sharing session with students on the environmental study tour to Xinjiang.
Reporter: (Details of the new Central harbourfront)
Dr Liao: We don't know yet. Because this is only a broad brush plan at the moment. The buildings that are designed in that plan have to undergo an urban design study, which will give all the details. For our part, we will certainly help the Planning Department to conduct an air ventilation assessment.
Reporter: Any preliminary idea on the New Central harbourfront...?
Dr Liao: I can't tell at the moment. I think we need to do a more detailed study before we can comment on how to make it the best design as far as the environment is concerned.
