Temporary Closure of Victoria Park Road westbound on May 13 and 14

    A spokesman for the Transport Department today (May 10) reminded people that to facilitate erection of an elevated working platform, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from about 1am to 5.30am on Saturday and Sunday (May 13 and 14):

Road Closure

The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic:  

(i)     The section of Victoria Park Road westbound between Gloucester Road and Hing Fat Street;

(ii)     The section of Island Eastern Corridor (IEC) westbound between Victoria Park Road and Hing Fat Street;

(iii)     The section of Tsing Fung Street westbound between Electric Road and Hing Fat Street;

(iv)     Tsing Fung Street Flyover;  

(v)     The westbound slip road leading from Hing Fat Street to Victoria Park Road westbound;

(vi)     The slip road of Tong Shui Road leading from junction of King・s Road westbound to IEC westbound;

(vii)     The slip road of Tong Shui Road leading from Wharf Road eastbound to IEC westbound and the section of Wharf Road eastbound near the old Government Supplies Department and sub-store; and

(viii)     The section of slip road heading to IEC from the junction of King・s Road / Healthy Street Central.

Traffic Diversion

During the period of road closure, the following traffic diversion will be implemented:

(i)     Motorists on Hing Fat Street, Tsing Fung Street flyover or IEC westbound heading to Kowloon will be diverted via King・s Road, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover, Gloucester Road northbound, Gloucester Road service road, Gloucester Road westbound, flyover and Cross Harbour Tunnel.

(ii)     Motorists on Hing Fat Street, Tsing Fung Street Flyover or IEC westbound heading to Central and Wan Chai North will be diverted via King・s Road, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover, Gloucester Road northbound, flyover and Gloucester Road.

(iii)     Motorists on Gloucester Road service road heading to Cross Harbour Tunnel will be diverted onto the tunnel bound traffic lane at Gloucester Road.

(iv)     All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from Hing Fat Street southbound onto Victoria Park Road westbound.

Temporary Public Transport Arrangement

(i)     Bus route no. N118 from IEC westbound heading to Sham Shui Po will be diverted via Hing Fat Street slip road, Wing Hing Street, King・s Road westbound, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover and Gloucester Road northbound before resuming its original routeing.  

(ii)     Bus route no. N102 on King・s Road westbound heading to Mei Foo will be diverted via King・s Road, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover and Gloucester Road northbound before resuming its original routeing.  

(iii)     Bus route no. N170 on Causeway Road eastbound heading to Sha Tin will be diverted via Ngan Mok Street, Lau Li Street, King・s Road westbound, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover and Gloucester Road northbound before resuming its original routeing.

The bus stop on Hing Fat Street outside Victoria Park will be temporarily suspended. Replacement stop will be provided on Ngan Mok Street near Yacht Street.  

(iv)     Bus route no. N8P from IEC westbound heading to Wan Chai will be diverted via Hing Hing Fat Street slip road, Wing Hing Street, King・s Road westbound, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover and Gloucester Road northbound before resuming its original routeing.  

(v)     Bus route no. N691 on King・s Road westbound heading to Central (Macau Ferry Pier) will be diverted via King・s Road, Tung Lo Wan Road, Tai Hang Road flyover and Gloucester Road northbound before resuming its original routeing.

     Appropriate traffic aids will be erected to guide motorists and notices will be displayed by bus companies to advise passengers of the changes. Actual implementation of the road closure and traffic diversions will be made by the Police at the site depending on conditions in the area.
