Government Flying Service responds to accident report
*****************************************************

After the Civil Aviation Department published today (May 4) a report on the accident to Eurocopter EC155B1 helicopter, B-HRX, operated by the Government Flying Service (GFS) near the Hong Kong International Airport on August 26, 2003, a GFS spokesman said, "We accept all of the recommendations made in the report regarding our operations."

Most of the recommendations have already been implemented such as implementation of a minimum en-route height and procedures, improved Crew Resource Management training, mandatory wearing of helmets and a longer overlap between shifts. The rest will be put in place as swiftly as possible.

"We are committed to continued improvement of our operations and will continue to provide a full range of emergency and essential flying services to the community in accordance with stringent standards of flight safety," the spokesman said.
