With effect from April 1, 2006, the Lands Department will take over the squatter control and clearance functions from the Housing Department. The Housing Department will retain the responsibility for the re-housing of the affected clearees in clearance exercises initiated by the Government.
As part of this transfer exercise, all the squatter control and clearance teams presently on the establishment of the Housing Department will be transferred to the Lands Department. Their Headquarter Offices will be relocated to 13/F and 19/F respectively at North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point. The contact telephone numbers are:
