The Government today (March 10) gazetted the appointment of Mr Lee Luen-fai as a member of the Womenˇ¦s Commission with effect from February 21, 2006 to January 14, 2009.
"Mr Lee has rich experience in the public relations/media field, and is a well-known media consultant. His expertise will be an added asset to the Commission," a government spokesman said.
Mr Lee is to fill the vacancy left by Mr Andy Ho, who resigned from the commission on his appointment as the Information Co-ordinator of the Government.
The commission was set up on January 15, 2001, as a high-level central mechanism which takes a strategic overview of women's issues. Comprising 18 non-official members and four ex-officio members, it plays a strategic role in advising the Government on policies and initiatives which are of concern to women.
