Three persons admitted to Princess Margaret Hospital for observation

    In response to media enquiry, a spokesperson of Princess Margaret Hospital (PMH) gave the following information:

     PMH has admitted three persons referred by the Centre for Health Protection this evening (February 1). They included two female, aged 78 and 39 and one male aged 42.  Among them, the 42-year-old man has symptom of increasing tear flow, the 39-year-old woman has mild running nose and the 78-year-old woman has no signs of illness. The temperature of the three persons is normal.  They are now under close observation at the isolation ward.  Samples were taken from them and passed to the Department of Health for virus detection. "Tamiflu" were given to them as prophylaxis treatment.

     The Hospital has already stepped up infection control measures according to established guidelines.  Front-line health care workers who take care of the three patients were put on full Personal Protective Equipment.
