Hongkong Post today (January 15) issued the "Year of the Dog" Special Stamps. At a ceremony held at the General Post Office this morning, the Postmaster General, Mr Allan Chiang, and the Secretary for Economic Development and Labour Mr Stephen Ip Shu-Kwan, marked the issue of the special stamps by stamping a blow-up first day cover.
As a memento of the occasion, Mr Chiang presented to Mr Ip and Mr Bon Kwan, designer of the special stamps, framed stamps and first day covers.
To tie in with the Lunar New Year festive atmosphere, a group of children dancers had performed a "Puppy Dance" before the ceremony started. Free "Lucky Pouches" and "Fai Chuns" were also distributed by the "God of Wealth" to customers.
