Yau Tsim Mong District residents have another location for regular exercise and to enjoy their leisure time with the opening of the Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre and Swimming Pool. It is the first venue to provide both land and aquatic sports and recreational facilities under the same roof of a municipal services building.
Managed by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD), Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre and Swimming Pool is situated in the Tai Kok Tsui Municipal Services Building at 63 Fuk Tsun Street, Tai Kok Tsui and occupies a total floor area of 9,100 square metres.
A series of brand-new land-based facilities are offered in the Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre, including a main arena, a sports climbing wall, a fitness room, a childrenˇ¦s play room and three activity rooms.
The multi-function arena can be used as two basketball courts, two volleyball courts or eight badminton courts.
On one side of the arena is a sports climbing wall where climbers can show their skills. On the other side is a spectator stand that can accommodate up to 250 people.
The Tai Kok Tsui Swimming Pool is equipped with an indoor heated leisure pool and an indoor heated training pool. The leisure pool with its water play equipment and tropical setting will provide a lot of fun for kids, while more serious swimmers may hone their skills in the six-lane 25-metre-training pool.
Tai Kok Tsui Sports Centre opens from 7am to 11pm daily. There are three opening sessions at Tai Kok Tsui Swimming Pool - 6.30am to noon, 1pm to 5pm, and 6pm to 10pm. On Mondays, the pools will be closed from 10am to 5pm for weekly cleaning.
Other major sports and recreational facilities in the Yau Tsim Mong District include: Fa Yuen Street Sports Centre, Kwun Chung Sports Centre, Boundary Street Sports Centre, Kowloon Park Sports Centre and Kowloon Park Swimming Pool.
