TD reminds public of transport arrangements on December 19
**********************************************************

The Transport Department (TD) today (December 18) reminded members of the public on the special transport and traffic arrangements tomorrow (December 19) which would be the first day after the Hong Kong Ministerial Conference (HKMC) of the World Trade Organisation.

A spokesman for the department said according to information from the Police, dismantling of water-filled barriers and fence at Wan Cha North would start at about 8 am on December 19.
The spokesman reminded the public that road closure would still be in place in the vicinity tomorrow morning. All the roads were expected to be reopened by phases by about 8 am on December 20.

He hoped the public would understand that there might be traffic diversions at Wan Chai North during the dismantling of water-filled barriers and fences. They were advised to pay attention to latest radio/TV broadcast on the latest situation and the instructions by the police officers on site.

TD's Emergency Transport Co-ordination Centre Joint Steering Mode had been in operation since December 10 to closely monitor the traffic situations and handle incidents of transport, and co-ordinate the announcement of information on traffic and public transport services .

TD¡¦s special hotline: 1834567 would be extended for two more days until December 20.  Enquiries on the most updated information on special traffic and transport arrangements could also be made at TD's general hotline: 28042600.
