Radio segment to commend outstanding disabled employees

    The Labour Department and Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) have jointly produced a radio segment to commend outstanding disabled employees and their employers.

     The segment aims to enhance public understanding of the working abilities of people with disabilities, thereby promoting their employment opportunities.
 
     Entitled "Differently Abled Partners", the segment will feature six winners of the "Outstanding Disabled Employees Award 2005" which was organised by the Labour Department. The winners will share their experiences in achieving outstanding performance at work and overcoming difficulties.

     Pop stars Joe Ma and Kenix Kwok and disc jockey Tsang Chi-ho will interview the winners in the  segment and play the part of these disabled employees in dramas.

     In addition, the nominating employers of the six winners will share their experience in employing people with disabilities.  Services provided to disabled job-seekers by the Selective Placement Division of the Labour Department will also be introduced.

     The segment will be broadcast every Thursday from tomorrow (December 8) to January 12 next year from 4pm to 4.30pm on RTHK Radio 1's programme "Chairman Fireless".
