The Working Group on Influenza Vaccination under the Scientific Committee of Vaccine Preventable Diseases today (December 2) released a statement on conclusions concerning two patients with encephalitis and suspected Guillain-Barre syndrome following influenza vaccination.
These two cases involved a 37-year-old woman and a 26-year-old woman who had a history of influenza vaccination in December 2004 and October 2005 respectively before the onset of their illness.
