MPFA recovers MPF non-payment for 26 employees

An employer was ordered to pay some $640,000 for 26 employees in the District Court, who were owed MPF contributions by the employer.
The District Court issued a judgment last Friday (November 25) against an employer. The defendant, Bestwin Engineering Limited, was ordered to pay the MPFA the sum of $644,108.27, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to 26 employees of the defendant.
The amount awarded will be reimbursed to the employees' MPF accounts as soon as it is received by the MPFA. The court further ordered the defendant to pay $930 to the MPFA as the cost of the claim.
