"My Heart, My Home" second voting stage begins today

    "My Heart, My Home - 18 Districts Reach Out Together For Loveable Sights In Hong Kong" enters its second voting stage today (November 28) and people are invited to elect their best loveable sights from the 18 winning sights of the first stage.

     "My Heart, My Home" is organised by the Home Affairs Bureau, 18 District Councils and the Hong Kong Institute of Architects.  Its goal is to enable residents to better understand the district they live in and Hong Kong in general.  The exercise also aims to foster a sense of belonging and pride for the community, as well as to encourage participation in heritage conservation.

     The first voting stage was successfully held between October 17 and November 6 when 18 most favourite sights out of the three choices in each district were selected.

     The second voting stage of "My Heart, My Home" will continue until December 18.  Hong Kong residents aged 11 or above with a valid identity card may vote for their best loveable sight from the 18 winning sights across the territory.

     The 18 candidate sights are listed as follows:

Central & Western - The Peak Tower and the Peak Tram
Wan Chai - Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance
Eastern - Victoria Park
Southern - Ocean Park
Yau Tsim Mong - Tsim Sha Tsui Promenade, Clock Tower, Avenue of Stars, Star Ferry Pier and cultural complex
Sham Shui Po - Digital Hub around Apliu Street
Kowloon City - Kowloon Walled City Park
Wong Tai Sin - Night scene at Jat's Incline, Kowloon Peak (Fei Ngo Shan)
Kwun Tong - Lei Yue Mun Waterfront Area
Tsuen Wan - Tsing Ma Bridge (Ma Wan section)
Tuen Mun - Hong Kong Gold Coast and Dolphin Square
Yuen Long - Nam Sang Wai, Mai Po Nature Reserve and Hong Kong Wetland Park
North - Fung Ying Seen Koon
Tai Po - Tai Po Waterfront Park and Lookout Tower
Sai Kung - High Island Reservoir
Sha Tin - Shing Mun River and scenes at river sides
Kwai Tsing - Tsing Ma Bridge and Lantau Link View Point
Islands - Taiping Qingjiao ceremony at Cheung Chau

     People may vote online (http://www.myheartmyhome.hk), by post or at designated voting stations.  Voters of the top three sights may win prizes worth more than $200,000, including more than 500 museum admission passes for individuals and families.
