E-channel facilities at Immigration control points to be extended
*********************************************************

Six more e-channels have been put into operation at the arrival hall of Macau Ferry Terminal control point from today (November 28), following the rollout of six e-channels at the departure hall of the terminal in May. The channels will be open to the public from 7.30am to 2am daily.

Operating hours of the e-channels at the arrival hall of Hung Hom control point will also be extended from today. The five e-channels will be open to the public from 6.30am to 11.45pm daily.

Hong Kong permanent residents (aged 11 or above) holding smart identity cards may use the e-channels to perform self-service immigration clearance.

People are reminded that if their thumbs are unclean, too dry or too moist, the fingerprint scanner's ability to read their thumbprints will be affected. Travellers should make sure their thumbs are clean before entering the e-channel. In case of too much dryness, a wet tissue should be used to dampen the thumb. If the thumb is too moist, it should be wiped with a dry tissue.

If people registered their smart identity cards with a finger rather than a thumb, that finger should be used for identity verification.
