Fatal traffic accident in Chai Wan

    Police are investigating a traffic accident in which two men aged 25 and 28 were killed in Chai Wan early this (November 27) morning.

     At about 2am, a private car driven by a 28-year-old man was travelling along east bound Island East Corridor.  When reaching near Aldrich Bay, it reportedly overturned and broke into two pieces after ramming into a kerb.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the driver and the 25-year-old male passenger were trapped inside the compartment.  They were rescued by the firemen and rushed to Pamela Youde Nethersole Eastern Hospital where they were certified dead at 2.28am and 2.27am respectively.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, Hong Kong Island are proceeding.
