Police are investigating an attempted murder and suicide case in which a 49-year-old man was injured and a 47-year-old woman died in Sheung Shui this (November 22) afternoon.
At about 3.10 pm, Police received a report that a man was found injured in a park near Sheung Shui Centre. Police officers arrived at the scene and located the 49-year-man who sustained cut injury to his right neck.
A knife wrapped in a paper bag was found on a bench inside the park.
The man was sent to the North District Hospital where he was admitted in critical condition.
Meanwhile, shortly before 3.30 pm, Police received another report that a woman was found fallen from height at Fuk On House of Ka Fuk Estate.
Police officers arrived at the scene and found the 47-year-old woman lying unconscious on the ground. She was later certified dead by ambulancemen at scene. It was believed that the woman had jumped down from the building.
A post-mortem will be conducted tomorrow morning to ascertain the cause of the womanˇ¦s death.
Investigations by the District Crime Squad of Tai Po are proceeding.
