The following is the transcript (English portion) of a media session by the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, in Busan today (November 19):
Reporter: How will the leaders' joint declaration affect the global economies such as the EU to be more flexible in the discussion in Doha Round ?
Chief Executive: We certainly realised that any progress to be made in the Ministerial Conference depends on global effort in particular with regard to agriculture. We need a substantive response from the European community but what was sitting around the table represents half of the world's GDP and I think the message we gave is substantive and powerful. I am sure it will put pressure on negotiators to come to a deal before the Ministerial Conference to be held in Hong Kong.
