Traffic accident in Tai Po

    A total of 105 people were injuried in a traffic accident in Tai Po this morning (November 17).

     Shortly before 11.30am, five vehicles including, three goods vehicles and two coaches were involved in a head-tail collision near Tai Po Market Kowloon-Canton Railway Station on Kowloon-bound lane of the Tolo Highway.

     The 105 injuried people -- 24 men and 81 women, were then rushed to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital, North District Hospital, Prince of Wales Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.

     Staff of Tai Po, Sha Tin, North and Yau Tsim Mong District Offices were sent to the hospitals to offer assistance to the victims.

     Latest medical examinations reveal that one person is now in a critical condition, three are seriously hurt, 10 are satisfactory and 89 others are stable. The condition of the remaining two are not available yet.    

     Police investigations are proceeding.
