US-based premier information aggregating and integrating services company, OneSource Information Services (OneSource), officially announced today (November 15) the opening of its Greater China regional office in Hong Kong.
At the launch ceremony today, the Vice President, Europe and Asia Pacific of OneSource, Mr Paul Brown, said that the Hong Kong office was primarily a sales and support operation responsible for growing OneSource's business and servicing clients in the region. It also oversaw business activities in the Mainland market and served as a base for expanding the company's business network in this part of the world.
"We see Hong Kong as the right place to establish our Greater China base," Mr Brown said. "It is our mission to provide the best business intelligence for decision makers in a competitive business environment. We benefit from Hong Kong's strategic location, allowing us to easily contact and meet our current and potential clients across the region. Moreover, the high concentration of regional offices set up by multinational corporations and the large variety of business activities here provide prospects for our company."
"The free flow of information in the city is also crucial for business intelligence companies like us. And more importantly, Hong Kong provides a natural base for our entry into the Mainland market with its proximity and enormous experience of doing business with Mainland enterprises."
"We are pleased to be in Hong Kong, where we have been given a warm welcome and much support. As our business in this region grows, we anticipate hiring additional staff to sustain our expansion," concluded Mr Brown.
The Director-General of Investment Promotion at Invest Hong Kong, Mr Mike Rowse, welcomed OneSource Information Service's arrival in Hong Kong. "The opening of OneSource in Hong Kong has once again shown that Hong Kong is the preferred location for world-class business services providers to operate in the region. To sustain our leading position as the hub of business services in Asia, it is important for us to continue attracting and retaining services companies with unique expertise like OneSource. This will not only enrich the offering of our business services sector, but also strengthen the competitiveness of our business community as a whole."
