Courtesy campaign at immigration control points
***********************************************

The Immigration Department will launch its annual courtesy campaign next week.

A spokesman for the department said that the campaign would be conducted from November 21 to 27 at the eight immigration control points. "It aims to encourage counter staff to deliver courteous and efficient service to the public. It will also help promote Hong Kong tourism," he said.

"The campaign will be conducted by voting. Travellers will cast their votes for the counter officers who perform commendable immigration clearance services for them. Voters can ask for a copy of the ballot form from the counter staff, fill in their own names and travel document or Hong Kong identity card numbers on the ballot forms with the officer's name, and then insert their ballot forms into the ballot boxes placed behind the immigration counters at the control point," the spokesman said.

The campaign will be publicised at the immigration control points during the period.

The Immigration Control Officer who gets the most votes will be named Hong Kong Courtesy Ambassador by the Hong Kong Tourism Board.
