Welcome Home Ceremony for Hong Kong delegation to National

    More than 100 athletes of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region delegation to the 10th National Games of the People's Republic of China attended a welcome home ceremony today (October 24) at Hong Kong Cultural Centre.

     The Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr Patrick Ho, and the Organising Committee Chairman of the Hong Kong delegation, Mr Timothy Fok, officiated at the ceremony.

     Speaking at the ceremony, Dr Ho said that competing against the best athletes from provinces and cities all over China, Hong Kong athletes had given a good account of themselves, breaking one Hong Kong record and attaining prominent positions in some events.

     Dr Ho added that the athletes' sporting spirit and perseverance were a source of pride for the people of Hong Kong.

     Hong Kong athletes were awarded one gold and three bronze medals and set one new Hong Kong record in the 10th National Games. Details are as follows:
