The Civil Engineering and Development Department (CEDD) today (October 22) held a community planting day at the Tseung Kwan O Grade Separated Interchange site.
Addressing the ceremony, the Director of Civil Engineering and Development, Mr Chai Sung-veng, said, ˇ§With the full opening of the Grade Separated Interchange in November, the traffic to and from Tseung Kwan O New Town would be more convenience and direct. The local traffic would therefore be improved.ˇ¨

The community planting ceremony appeals to the residents to realize the importance of environmental protection. Through participation in greening the environment, it also helps to reinforce public awareness in protecting our environment and natural resources.
Costing about $370 million, the construction works for Grade Separated Interchange commenced in May 2002 and is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
