The Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr Patrick Ho, congratulated Mr Steven Wong on winning a gold medal today (October 11) in men's BMX cycling event in the 10th National Games of the People's Republic of China.
The medal was the first one awarded to Hong Kong athletes in the Games.
Dr Ho said: "We are much heartened by your unremitting efforts to excel and are proud of your remarkable achievement."
He also wished other athletes representing Hong Kong in the National Games all the best in their upcoming events.
