Appeal for the identity of a woman killed in Ma On Shan

    Police appealed to the members of the public to provide information on the identity of an old woman who was killed in a traffic accident in Ma On Shan this evening (October 9).

     At about 5.17pm, a bus driven by a 52-year-old man was travelling along Ma On Shan Road heading Sha Tin.  When it reached Ma On Shan Road roundabout, it reportedly knocked down an old woman who was walking at the roundabout.

     Sustaining serious injuries, the old woman was rushed to the Prince of Wales Hospital where she was certified dead at 7.10pm.

     The old woman, aged about 70 to 80, did not carry any identity documents at the time of the accident.  She is of thin build, about 1.65 metres tall and has white hair.  She was wearing brown shirt, black trousers, black sandal and carried one stick.

     Investigations by the Special Investigation Team of Traffic, New Territories South are underway.

     Police urged the relatives of the old woman, or anyone who might have witnessed the accident or has information to offer, to contact the investigating officers at 3661 1344 or the Report Room of Traffic New Territories South at 3661 1300.
