Re-appointment of PCICB Chairman and Members
********************************************

The Government today (September 28) announced the re-appointment of Mr Keith Kerr as Chairman of the Provisional Construction Industry Co-ordination Board (PCICB) for one year with effect from September 28, 2005.

The Government also re-appointed 22 incumbent members of PCICB for the same period.

"Under the capable leadership of Mr Keith Kerr, PCICB has rolled out some major reforms to uplift the professional standard, built quality and cost competitiveness of local construction activities," a Government spokesman said.

"We are grateful to all PCICB members for their wise counsel and will continue to rely on their support in sustaining the impetus of change and in ensuring a smooth transition leading up to the formation of the statutory Construction Industry Council," he added.

The PCICB currently has 21 non-official and five official members coming from key sectors in the industry.  Apart from being a focal point of efforts to nurture a new mindset predicated on quality and productivity, it serves as a primary communication channel for practitioners to convey their needs and aspirations to the Government.
