The Secretary for Home Affairs, Dr Patrick Ho, today (September 1) congratulates the Hong Kong table tennis team for their remarkable performances at the 17th Asian Table Tennis Championships, winning a gold, a silver and a bronze medals in the Men's Doubles, Mixed Doubles and Women's Doubles events respectively.
The gold medalists are Mr Li Ching and Mr Ko Lai-chak, while Mr Ko and Ms Zhang Rui snatched silver in the Mixed Doubles; and Ms Zhang and Ms Tie Ya-na scored a bronze in the Women's Doubles.
"I am thrilled by our athletes continuously winning awards and would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to them. Everyone here is proud of their marvellous performance," said Dr Ho.
"The entire community will continue to give full support to our athletes. Their tenacity and strong will to succeed speak for the Hong Kong spirit," he said.
