Stage V of Secondary Six Admission to start
tomorrow

    On completion of Stage IV of the Secondary Six (S6) Admission Procedure today (August 12), there were 23 subvented S6 places left for central allocation by the Education and Manpower Bureau.  

    Of them, 15 are of the Science stream and 8 of the Commerce stream.

    Details of the school places have been uploaded onto the website at http://www.emb.gov.hk/s6ap.

    The school places will be allocated on the basis of the applicants' Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE) results, the choices that they have made and the subject requirements of the schools chosen.

    All current HKCEE participants who have got results satisfying the minimum A-level entry requirements but have not obtained an S6 place can bring along the original copies of their identification documents and their HKCEE Results Notices to apply for Central Allocation between 9am and 3.30pm at one of the following Central Allocation Application Centres tomorrow (August 13):

*  Sha Tin Government Secondary School

*  Tsuen Wan Government Secondary School

    70 Hoi Pa Street, Tsuen Wan

    Application results will be uploaded on the Bureau?s homepage (http://www.emb.gov.hk) after 6pm next Wednesday (August 17) and will be posted in all Regional Education Offices (REO) at 9am the following day.

    Those students who are still unable to secure an S6 place after the completion of Stage V may be able to get a place at the beginning of the new school year because some successful students may decide not to take up their places. Vacancy information will be available on the EMB Homepage and at all REO throughout September. Applications should be made to these schools direct.

    Students can also choose from a wide range of further studies opportunities, including Project Yi Jin, post-secondary programmes run by various institutions, the Youth Pre-employment Training Programme, the Youth Work Experience and Training Scheme, the Youth Self-employment Support Scheme and training places provided by the Vocational Training Council.
