    Mr Tam Kwan Sui, Allen handed in a nomination form for the Chief Executive Election at the office of the Returning Officer today (June 10).

    Three nominations have been received since nominations started on June 3.

    "The Returning Officer, Madam Justice Chu Fun Ling, Carlye will process the nominations and determine their validity in accordance with the law," a spokesman for the Registration and Electoral Office said.

    To qualify as a candidate, a nominee must be a Hong Kong permanent resident aged 40 or above, a Chinese citizen with no right of abode in any foreign country, and has ordinarily resided in Hong Kong for a continuous period of not less than 20 years before the polling day. A nomination of a candidate shall be made by not less than 100 members of the Election Committee.

    The two-week nomination period will run until 5pm on June 16 (Thursday).

    A poll is scheduled for July 10 (Sunday), if more than one candidate is validly nominated.
