Acting CE speaks on work of Commission on Poverty

*************************************************

Following is the transcript (English portion) of a media session by the Acting Chief Executive, Mr Henry Tang, on the work of Commission on Poverty after attending the Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Day Luncheon at the Sha Tin Racecourse today (May 29):

Acing Chief Executive: I have decided to dedicate the revenue from the Personalised Vehicle Registration Marks scheme to the alleviation of poverty's work. It will complement the work because while on the one hand, we say that alleviation of poverty is not about giving out money, but on the other hand, many of the services will require additional resources, so it will complement the work of the Commission.

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
