    The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Jeremy Nigel Gadbury and Mr Soo Hung Leung, Lincoln, JP as members of the Insider Dealing Tribunal to inquire into possible insider dealing in the listed securities of Cheong Ming Investments Limited (formerly Cheong Ming Holdings Limited) in 2000.

    Appointment of the two members was made pursuant to Section 15(2) of the Securities (Insider Dealing) Ordinance (Cap. 395).  Mr Gadbury is a certified accountant and is the Managing Director of Gadbury Group Limited.  Mr Soo is a stockbroker and the Chairman of Soo Pei Shao & Co Limited.  Both are familiar with the operation of Hong Kong's financial market.

    They will sit on the tribunal under the chairmanship of Deputy Judge Saunders of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.  The preliminary hearing of the inquiry is scheduled for 4pm tomorrow (May 24, 2005) at the Insider Dealing Tribunal in Room 702, Tower Two, Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway.
