SCIT speaks about copyright infringement in a
BitTorrent case

    Following is the transcript (English portion) of the Secretary for Commerce, Industry and Technology, Mr John Tsang, speaking to the media on the laying of charges by the Customs and Excise Department against an alleged copyright infringer in a BitTorrent case today (April 27):

Reporter: The government has laid charges against people involved in the sharing of file in the Internet...

SCIT: The law provides the Government to charge people who do the distribution. We are charging someone on the distribution aspect. But the industry could follow the civil action on any aspect that they feel that it's infringing their rights.
