11 more nominations for EC subsector by-elections

    Eleven nominees submitted nomination forms today (April 14) for the Election Committee (EC) subsector by-elections on May 1, bringing the total number of nominations to 37.

    The nomination period began on April 9 and ends tomorrow (April 15).

    "Prospective nominees who plan to submit their nomination form tomorrow are advised to avoid a last-minute rush and allow time for such mistakes as bad cheques to be rectified before nomination closes," a Registration and Electoral Office spokesman said.

    "To play safe, they may include more subscribers than legal requirements in their form," he added.

    The breakdown of the number of nominations by each subsector is:

    Personal particulars of the nominees, including their name, gender, occupation and political affiliation, are available at www.elections.gov.hk.

    Supplementary nominations for the six vacancies in the Religious Subsector by the religious bodies concerned also started on April 9 and runs until April 15. The results of supplementary nominations will be published in the Government Gazette after the nomination period.
