    The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Ng Kwok Wai and Mr Nigel Keith Bacon as members of the Insider Dealing Tribunal to inquire into possible insider dealings in the listed securities of Asia Orient Holdings Limited in 1999.

    Appointment of the two members was made pursuant to section 15(2) of the Securities (Insider Dealing) Ordinance (Cap. 395).  Mr Ng is a certified public accountant and is the Managing Director of Eric Ng CPA Limited.  Mr Bacon is a practising solicitor and a partner of Kennedys Solicitors.  Both are familiar with the operation of Hong Kong's financial market.

    They will sit on the tribunal under the chairmanship of Deputy Judge Saunders of the Court of First Instance of the High Court.  The preliminary hearing of the inquiry is scheduled for 4.30pm on Monday, February 28, 2005 at the Insider Dealing Tribunal in Room 702, Tower Two, Lippo Centre, 89 Queensway.
