The Land Registry released today (January 5) the land registration statistics recorded for the year of 2004.
The total number of sale and purchase agreements for all types of building units received for registration in the Land Registry for the period was 123,480. This represented an increase of 41.4% compared with 2003 and 43.7% compared with 2002.
The total amount of consideration involved in these agreements was $351.79 billion. This was up by 85.7% compared with 2003 and 89.8% compared with 2002.
During 2004, 135,106 assignments of building units were lodged for registration. This was 22.8% over the 110,052 recorded during 2003 and 12.8% over the 119,734 recorded in 2002.
The total amount of consideration involved, amounting to $305.7 billion, indicates an increase of 47.5% over 2003 and 54.3% over 2002.
Searches of land records made by members of the public during 2004 totalled 3,664,730. This was up by 29.7% compared with 2003 and 30.2% compared with 2002.
