SCS writes to all colleagues

****************************

Following is the letter issued by the Secretary for the Civil Service, Mr Joseph WP Wong, to all colleagues, urging them to make donations to help the tsunami victims today (December 29):

Dear colleagues,

We are all shocked and saddened by the tsunamis which struck vast areas in South Asia and killed close to 60,000 people on the latest count.

As the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Government and our dedicated civil servants continue the efforts to assist Hong Kong residents in the affected areas and facilitate their safe return, you may wish to join with the rest of the community and make a donation to the various international relief agencies in support of their rescue and rehabilitation work.

Let us pray for the safety of our lost fellow residents and lend a helping hand to the tsunami victims and their families.

Mr Wong's letter has been uploaded onto the CSB website at www.csb.gov.hk.

Ends/Wednesday, December 29, 2004
