Update on assistance to HK people affected by tsunamis (as at 10 am)

A Government spokesman said today (December 29) that currently, nine Immigration officers have been sent to Phuket in Thailand and four to Colombo in Sri Lanka to assist and facilitate the early return of Hong Kong residents affected by the tsunamis.

At 10 am today, the Immigration Department's hotline (2829 3010) had received 1,260 calls --- 583 enquiries and 677 requests for assistance.
